Complete renovation of an apartment in Ciutat Vella, Barcelona. The client requested the division of the apartment into two separate dwellings—one facing the street, and the other overlooking the interior courtyard. The building is protected both in terms of urban planning and as a historic ensemble. The original apartment features 3.5-meter-high ceilings and some areas with original stucco, which we preserved. The flooring was restored, and in areas where the original pavement was of lower quality, we applied microcement. This allowed us to integrate the old with the new, highlighting the apartment’s identity through its floors, ceilings, and original woodwork.
